Draw style is why the same device feels perfect to one vaper and wrong to another. Here are the three styles in plain terms.
MTL — Mouth to Lung
You draw vapour into your mouth first, then inhale — exactly like a cigarette. Tight, airy resistance, modest vapour, pronounced throat hit. Best for: recent ex-smokers and anyone who wants a familiar ritual. Devices: IGET Bar, IGET One, Legend.
RDL — Restricted Direct Lung
A middle path: you inhale straight to the lungs, but through a narrowed airflow that keeps some resistance. More vapour and flavour than MTL, gentler than full DL. Best for: vapers who found MTL too tight after a few months. Devices: IGET Moon, Pandora 7K.
DL — Direct Lung
Big open airflow, inhale straight to the lungs like breathing through a wide straw. Maximum vapour, warmest feel, softest throat hit. Mostly the territory of rechargeable sub-ohm mods rather than disposables.
How to find yours
Most people start MTL (it replicates smoking), drift toward RDL as their habit becomes about flavour rather than ritual. If your current device feels “stuffy”, move one step airier; if it feels “airy and unsatisfying”, step tighter.
