Half-used devices and bulk-bought spares die early for one reason: bad storage. Five habits fix it.
1. Keep them upright
Store disposables vertically, mouthpiece up. Laying them flat or tip-down for weeks can flood the mouthpiece or starve the wick depending on design — upright is always safest.
2. Room temperature, always
Lithium cells hate extremes. A car glovebox in summer can hit 60°C+ — that degrades the battery and thins the e-liquid, causing leaks. Freezing cold thickens e-liquid until wicks can’t feed the coil. A drawer indoors is perfect.
3. Out of sunlight
UV breaks down flavour compounds and heats the device unevenly. A cool dark drawer beats a windowsill or car console.
4. Sealed until use
Factory seals keep e-liquid fresh. Don’t open packaging until the day you start a device — exposure to air slowly dulls flavour.
5. Rotate your stock
Use oldest first. A simple habit: new devices go to the back of the drawer, the next-to-use stays at the front.
Travel and pouches
On the move, carry devices mouthpiece-up in a pocket away from keys (scratches can crack tanks). For flights, keep them in cabin baggage where temperature and pressure are controlled.
Stock up safely on the bundle page — stored well, spares stay fresh for months.
